Update on us!

I know I've been severely lacking on posts but we've been busy! We've added to our little family by bringing our new puppy, Bentley, home! He's a beagle and now 14 weeks old (we brought him home at 9 weeks). Naturally as a new puppy mom, I've taken an extreme amount of pictures - here's a SMALL sample below.

(First bath!)

(So Snuggly!)

We love him! When people ask about him, I've been saying he just loves everyone SO MUCH he wants to eat you. Our hands definitely have puppy wounds from his "love" at any given time. We're working on it.

In other news, this past Wednesday was Mike and I's third wedding anniversary! Every year I feel so lucky to be able to celebrate another year together. It's simply been my privilege and pleasure to love him. Here's to many more to come!

P.S. Look for a house update soon! Exciting things are happening!

Belated Wishes!

I'm so behind because of the holidays - so Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to you! I thought while I put together our next post (the fireplace is complete - get excited!), I would share a couple photos of our holiday season.

We may have bought Mike an "ugly" Christmas sweater ...that matched his two brothers
Tis the season!!

Happy New Years!

We are so blessed and only hope the blessings continue into the new year. Sending tons of happy thoughts and love to everyone!

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

We're taking a break from house projects to celebrate our second anniversary! It's crazy how another year has flown by. It truly is a case where time flies when you're (in love) having fun. So while we relax together, I'll leave you with what I've learned this past year.

It's all about having fun together. And it doesn't have to be dramatic, adventures around the world type of stuff. It can be simple and wonderful. Like when we tried to install a light fixture in the dark because we had to turn the breaker off. Or when we have spaghetti night and Mike experiments with ingredients (and I drink wine) trying to find the perfect sauce to call our "family recipe." Or even the smallest memories like when we buy each other the same "thinking of you" card. Or when we know exactly what the other person is thinking and laugh out loud before anything is ever said.

That small stuff. That laughter. That's exciting. Nothing's better than truly enjoying the company you're with. And lucky for us, it's only just begun!

Happy Anniversary to Us!

WARNING: Mushing feelings to come. Now that you've been warned...

Today is Mike and I's one year wedding anniversary. It feels funny to start over our anniversary count (we've been together 6 yers now). Everyone says that your wedding day is the best day of your life. I've concluded that's a lie... BECAUSE every day after has been even more amazing. The laughter, the tears, the joy, the sorrow, and everything in between. Every day I'm married to him, I think it can't get any better. Having dinner ready after the longest day ever ...it can't get any better. Laundry done without asking ...it can't get any better. Rolling over in the morning just to see the peaceful look on his face ...it cannot get any better. But it always does.

So thank you to my best friend, my partner in crime, my companion, and my husband. Thank you for what has been, what is now, and what we have to come!

Here we go

Welcome to our work in progress!

The year has been many first's for the hubs and I. We graduated (for the first time), started our first jobs (and got our first paycheck!), got our first apartment; oh yeah, and we got married (HIGHLIGHT)! So ths post begins another amazing first - our first house!

Today marks the beginning of an amazing journey. We did our final walk through after an exhausting house search. We've seen at least 20+ houses trying to find the perfect one. As first time home buyers, and at the ripe old age of 23, we had to stick to a budget. Luckily, the hubs was crafted from God's own DIY cloth. A project manager by profession and all-around stubborn handy-man, we're looking forward to building up, tearing down, and everything in between. So updating the house wasn't our issue; it was more about the location and overall feel of the house. It might have just been me - but I had to be able to SEE us living out our lives. So thank goodness our realtor has been awesome, helping us not just find a house but a home.

This blog is meant to document our adventure of turning this house into a home. I want to look back and say "We did that!" with an exhausted laugh and memory full of unforgettable moments. Please join us on the journey. It'll be crazy and ridiculous, and quite often dramatic if I have any hand in it. But when isn't life, right?!
